A gentle and loving man who discovered his greatest joy in life with his 6 children, 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great grandchildren.
Jane Doe, his wife of 64 years has said that he was wonderful to be with everyday and had such a big heart. "He provided a wonderful life for us and our children."
"A home filled with love and laughter." "What more could I ever ask for."
~John Doe
John Doe was born in Sandusky, OH and his parents relocated to the Niagara Region to work at the Niagara Falls Air Base.
He was the youngest of 5 children and began working at the age of 14.
His first job was in a small paper manufacturing company in Youngstown and he quickly worked his way up the ranks to Floor Manager. He remarked later on that the skills he learned there paved the way to his career as the General Manager for World Wide Health Systems.
He retired early due to spinal problems and spent the remainder of his life devoted to his family and helping his community. His efforts are still visible today in our parks, schools and assisted living homes.
John was an unwavering force behind the Literacy Project of Niagara County. He taught so many people to read in this community that it seemed only fitting to rename the wing of the County Library after him. Dedicated July 14, 2012.
"The only time I ever saw John show pride in anything other than our children, was when he listened to someone read a book for the very first time. It gave him chills"
